A Moorhead man was taken to Cass County Jail on Saturday morning after Fargo police found him pulling on the door of a squad car in the department’s parking lot.

Sgt. Mike Erbes said that after being alerted by a passer-by, police found Kenneth Ray Longie Jr., 21, of Moorhead, pulling on the door of one of their squad cars in the Fargo Police Department parking lot.

Erbes said Longie told them he was trying to get into the car to drive it to his home in Moorhead. Erbes said he believed that the fact that Longie was intoxicated influenced his “decision-making process.” Erbes said Longie insisted he was not intoxicated.

Longie was arrested on an unrelated warrant and for tampering with a vehicle, Erbes said.
