An automatic rifle, a shotgun and a handgun stolen from an El Paso police SWAT officer's marked car were recovered Tuesday, police said.

The weapons were reported stolen Monday morning from the officer Salvador Sanchez's take-home car which was parked at his Northeast home.

Police spokesman Javier Sambrano said an investigation continues, and he would not disclose where the firearms were found.

Sanchez is a nine-year veteran.
