February 19, 2006 -- A teen is in jail after allegedly stealing a sheriff's deputy 's vehicle.
Deputies first responded to the teen's home in the 3800 block of Ezekiel on a family fight call.
They talked to his parents, who let them know the problem was with their son.
While they were trying to locate him in the home, that's when they say he ran into the patrol unit and drove off.
"The juvenile is not going to be identified at this time by our policy, but he's been placed under arrest for resisting arrest and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle," said Rick Glancey, with the El Paso Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's officials say Sunday's incident is the ninth time they've been called out to the home because of problems with the teen.
They estimate about $250 in damage to the vehicle.
