DULUTH, Ga. - Police are still on the hunt for a man who took off in a Duluth police cruiser.

The DUI suspect was captured on dash-cam video in the squad car which was later found dumped in southeast Atlanta.

Monday afternoon a Duluth officer pulled over a u-haul van that had been involved in a wreck.

Police said they determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. They arrested the man for DUI, handcuffed him and placed him in the back of the squad car.

The officer then went back to the u-haul, which turned out to be stolen.

When he returned to his squad car, it was gone -- taken police said by the suspect.

The dash-cam video shows a handcuffed suspected squad car thief opening the vehicle's hood. Detectives think he disabled the car's GPS

For hours police looked for the car, which finally turned up in the back parking lot of the trinity tabernacle church on memorial drive in southeast Atlanta.

Witnesses said the suspect bolted on foot.

Witnesses also said the man ditched a bag of guns he had taken from the car. Those weapons were retrieved, along with all of the other police equipment.

But a search late into the night failed to turn up the suspect.
