Handcuffed Man Steals Detroit Patrol Car
Police Surround Home, Make Arrest

A suspected drug dealer escaped officers Monday afternoon by stealing their patrol car, Local 4 reported.
Officers handcuffed a man in a neighborhood on Detroit's east side after they witnessed what they believed to be a drug deal.
The man was placed in the back of a patrol car unattended, with his arms bound behind his back.
Police say he was able to bring his arms over his head and steal the patrol car, the station reported.
"He was cuffed behind him and somehow he got the cuffs in front of him and gained possession of the scout car," said Sgt. John Claybourne, of the Detroit Police Department.
Police jumped in the man's vehicle and chased after the patrol car, according to the station's reports.
The man abandoned the police vehicle in an alley near Nevada and Conant streets.
A K-9 unit and witnesses in the area pointed police to a nearby home where the man was apparently hiding.
Police surrounded the house and the man surrendered.
"An elderly woman came to the door. She came out and then officers screamed inside for him to come out and he finally came out," Claybourne said.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The man is expected to face several charges.
