A Des Plaines teen wanted to show off to his friends by driving a police squad car, so he went to the police department's parking lot and tried to take one, police said.
When Benjamin Enggas, 19, was spotted in the lot and asked what he was doing, he responded, "I'm trying to get into a squad car," according to a police report.
Enggas, who was charged with attempted criminal trespassing, told police he wanted to take the car "for a little while and show his friends," but planned to return it.
