Delano Police cruiser stolen, wrecked Updated 12/11/04 BAKERSFIELD, CA - The search is on in Delano for the man who swiped an unmarked police cruiser Friday afternoon. The Delano Police Department said a detective was responding to a call of a suspicious person when the car was stolen. The detective left his car to talk to two men believed to be involved in the call. Delano Police Chief Jack Griggs said one of the suspects involved in the call started running, and then doubled back and jumped in the cruiser. Griggs said the stolen cruiser was found late Friday afternoon in Tulare County. However, the car was completely wrecked. Officers are still searching for the suspect. |
