Dayton, Ohio mentally ill 62-year-old woman steals police cruiser

No charges will be pursued against a mentally ill 62-year-old Dayton woman who took a village police cruiser Friday, Sgt. Tracey Hendricks, acting police chief, said Tuesday.
The woman had requested a tow truck to remove her stuck car, which she had driven down a boat ramp along the Stillwater River at the village's Municipal Park.
While Hendricks assisted in pulling the vehicle from the embankment, the woman drove off in his cruiser.Hendricks and a bystander located the cruiser on West Hayes Street. It wasn't damaged. They apprehended the woman, who had been trying to escape in another vehicle she commandeered in the parking lot at a McDonald's.
