Dallas, TX - Suspect Steals Dallas Police Car From Sgt. that Stopped To Help Motorist - Helicopter Used
DALLAS -- A man accused of stealing the vehicle of a police sergeant who
had stopped to help an elderly stranded motorist was arrested Tuesday, Dallas
police said.
Police said the man jumped in the unmarked city of Dallas vehicle at about
12:15 p.m. after the sergeant pulled over at 12th Street and Beckley Avenue.
Officers located the vehicle, and with a police helicopter overhead, were able
to pull the man over at Collins Street and Bardin Drive in Arlington, Texas,
where he was taken into custody.
There were no injuries or damage to any vehicles and there was never a police
chase, police said.
