COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police said an undercover vehicle that had been stolen was
found on Sunday on the city's southwest side.
The black SUV was taken from the Franklin Park Conservatory, where the
officer was working security at the Asian Festival, at about 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Investigators said the thief got into the vehicle through a rear window, 10TV's
Andy Hirsch reported.
The officer's gun and police vest were in the SUV when it was stolen.
An officer spotted the vehicle at about 9:45 a.m. on Canonby Place, near Cooper
Stadium, Hirsch reported.
Police said the vest and gun were not in the vehicle when it was found.
Some bags from the SUV were thrown into a nearby Dumpster, police said.
The vehicle will be processed for evidence.
Police continued to search for the person who stolen the SUV.
