Waconia man was charged
today with two counts of
first-degree murder for the
stabbing deaths of his parents,
reports WCCO-Radio.
Richard Happ is accused of
killing Richard H. Happ, 62, and
Angela Happ, 59, on Wednesday.
He was charged in Carver County District Court.
Happ allegedly stabbed them to death and stole a police car to flee
from officers. Police said the parents intervened when Rich Happ got
angry at his 27-year-old brother, David, reports The Associated Press.
He was unemployed but did temporary jobs. He recently moved in with
his parents and brother. Relatives and others said he had mental
health problems, reports the wire service.
The radio station also reports he's accused of trying to attack his
psychiatrist at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Bail was set at $2 million. His first court appearance is March 30.
