Woman Steals Police Car
BONNER'S FERRY, Idaho - Right now authorities in Bonner's Ferry are searching
for a suspect who stole a police car. Police say Shannon Kelly was arrested last
night on a forgery charge but somehow ended up stealing the patrol vehicle.
Officers say she had been handcuffed but managed to get her hands in front of
her and crawl into the driver's seat. By the time she had driven off police
were unable to catch her. A short time later she called over the radio, said she
was lost, and that she wanted them to come get her. She told Police of her
general location.
But officers were unable to locate the car. A time later officers discovered
the stolen vehicle in the Katka Mountain area, nowhere near the area she had
described. She had fled the scene. The only thing missing from the car is a
personal cell phone.
