DUNKIRK - A man was arrested last week for allegedly attempting to steal a Blackford County police car.

Tyler A. Sewell, 20, 20405 N. Jay County Road 700-E, allegedly got into the car, which was parked in front of the Dunkirk police station, and started the engine.

The officer, who had left the key in the car, saw Sewell from inside the police station. He yelled at Sewell to get out of the car and pointed a gun at him, according to Dunkirk police.

Sewell was charged with a class D felony, and was released from the Jay County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
