An Albany man will not spend this Thanksgiving with his family. Instead he's in the Albany County Jail accused of stealing a police uniform and car.
State police say 23-year-old Ryan Donnelly got into the State Police Academy in Albany through the loading dock. Once inside, they say he went to the laundry area and stole a trooper's
uniform. After changing into it, they say he went to the desk to ask for a car. They gave him one of the spare cars, which didn’t have a radio. They say Donnelly drove to state police
headquarters in Loudonville where he asked for a trooper's hat.
The person at the desk was suspicious and alerted a supervisor who arrested Donnelly.
He is charged with criminal impersonation and burglary.
