Stolen Lenawee County Sheriff's Patrol Car taken for a joyride

(Adrian, MI) -- An 18-year-old man accused of stealing a
Lenawee County Sheriff's patrol car for a joyride was in
court today.

Ruben A. Rojas of Manitou Beach faces five charges,
including unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle. He's held
on a quarter (m) million dollar bond, with a preliminary 
hearing set in two weeks.

The cruiser and a pickup truck were stolen Friday. A deputy
stopped a man driving the truck, then chased him on foot. Police
say the suspect got away from the deputy and took the patrol car.

It was found later in the day, with its emergency lights still on.
