Stolen Police Car In Canada Almost Runs Down Two Children Before Crashing

A suspect's wild ride in a stolen unmarked London police car ended in near-disaster for a London mother and her two children yesterday.

There were no injuries in the crash, which ended with the car on the grass and jammed against a tree at Elmwood Place and McKay Avenue.

A suspect was arrested and taken into custody after being pepper-sprayed by London police.

Shelley Dixon of Elmwood Place said her children, Emma, 8, and Aaron, 4, were playing when they were horrified to see an unmarked police car speeding along McKay, seemingly right toward them.

The car narrowly missed the children as it rounded the corner, went out of control and came to rest on the grass against a tree.

Dixon said she was nearly hit by the car as she ran toward her children.

Several other vehicles were struck by the car as it sped through south London streets with police following.
